Mechanical lock standing seam panels — manufactured in Canada

Standing Seam Canada roll-forms mechanical lock standing seam panels at our factory in Kleinburg, Ontario. Three seam heights — 1", 1.5" and 3" — in 22, 24 and 26 GA steel with PVDF Kynar 500 finishes, shipped direct across Canada.

What "mechanical lock" actually means

A mechanical lock standing seam is a concealed-fastener metal roof panel where the seam between two panels is folded closed by a powered seaming tool after the panels are set. The double fold physically locks the panels together — the seam cannot pop open under wind uplift the way a snap-lock seam can, and every fastener sits under the seam, outside the water plane.

This is the standing seam profile specified on almost every commercial, institutional and premium-residential metal roof built in Canada. It is approved for slopes as low as 1:12 (and, in the 3\" profile, down to 0.5:12), and carries the highest wind uplift and water-tightness ratings in the metal roofing category.

Profiles we manufacture

  • 1" mechanical lock — the workhorse architectural profile for residential re-roofs across Ontario and Canada.
  • 1.5" mechanical lock — deeper shadow line, preferred for modern architecture and roofs down to 2:12.
  • 3" mechanical lock (TSS-3000) — commercial and low-slope profile with optional stiffening ribs. See the TSS-3000 spec page →

Why buy standing seam panels direct from a Canadian manufacturer

Most standing seam sold in Canada moves through a distributor tier that adds 20–35% to the price and locks you into whatever colours and profiles the distributor stocks. Buying panels direct from our Kleinburg mill removes that layer entirely — you specify the exact width, gauge, finish and length you need, we roll it, and it ships or gets rolled on your site.

Where we deliver

We ship standing seam panels, clips and flashings anywhere in Canada. Our mobile roll-forming mill covers all of Ontario, including Toronto, the GTA, Muskoka and cottage country. Installation crews are available across Ontario and the GTA.

Frequently asked questions

What is a mechanical lock standing seam panel?

A mechanical lock standing seam is a metal roof or wall panel where the vertical seams between panels are folded together by a powered seaming tool on site. The double fold locks the panels together, hides every fastener, and produces the most weathertight standing seam joint available — the industry standard for low-slope and premium residential roofs across Canada.

Mechanical lock vs snap lock — which should I use?

Snap-lock panels click together and are quick to install, but they rely on the clip alone to hold the seam. Mechanical lock panels are physically folded, giving far better wind uplift and water resistance. For low slopes (below 3:12), for coastal and cottage-country exposures, and for any roof you want to last 50+ years, mechanical lock is the correct choice.

What panel widths and gauges do you manufacture?

We roll-form standing seam panels in 12", 14", 16", 18", 20" and 24" widths in 22, 24, and 26 gauge steel. Kynar 500 PVDF finishes in the full standard colour range, plus custom colours on request. Panels can be made in continuous lengths — up to 50+ ft on site with our mobile mill.

Do you ship standing seam panels across Canada?

Yes. We're a Canadian manufacturer based in Kleinburg, Ontario. We ship panels, clips, and matching flashings direct from our factory across Ontario and to every province. For larger residential and commercial jobs we can also bring the mill to your site and roll-form on location.

Do you sell to contractors and DIYers, or install-only?

Both. We supply panels, stainless clips (sold by the box of 1,000), and custom flashings to roofing contractors, builders and homeowners across Canada. We also offer turnkey installation across Ontario and the GTA.
